Day #288 Bubbles

There’s too much going on, too much to do, too much work and generally not enough sleep. So instead of a proper post,  I dug out an older video I forgot to post on my Facebook back in September when I first filmed it. It was a relatively cold yet clear day and Nana brought some bubble making stuff for Hawkeye to enjoy. What follows is nearly a minute of toddler running around after bubbles, arms flailing in all directions. It’s hilarious, but also a little bittersweet. Facebook reminded me this morning that three years ago we brought Hawkeye home from the hospital. This morning we also attended a check up at Temple Street Children’s Hospital as he had grommets inserted into his ears about a year ago. The consultant, aside from discharging him after a satisfactory review, was amazed at his growth and speech. Hawkeye strode into his office like he owned the place, patiently cooperated with the doctor’s demands, and narrated everything.

This video is also one of the last ones I have where he still has that slightly stilted toddler gait when he runs. I looked at him when he was running around in RugbyTots this weekend and realised that he was becoming steadier when running. His arms don’t quite flail around as much and his pace is smoother. He is growing up. I reflected on this back in my post on Day #200 and 87 days later there are even more changes.

And now, without further ado… I give you bubbles.
