Day #242 Poetic humour

We were back in the zoo today, and I am completely exhausted now from all the walking and excitement of the weekend. I will finish off the description of our trip another night when I have more energy. However I did want to share this little gem today. We now frequently end up going to the farm corner of the zoo first, to see the pigs and the cows and the goats and sheet, etc. But somehow I have always overlooked the little farmhouse itself. Specifically, the poem painted onto the side of the house.

Sometimes poets have a really twisted sense of humour. I love it.

Jan Hanlo (1912-1969) was a Dutch poet. This is a translation of his poem Des Mus which can be found similarly painted on the side of a building in Leiden
