Things I’ve accidentally learned this morning:
1. The origin of the word “pineapple”
2. The origin of the word “ananas”
3. Why most other languages use “ananas” whereas English uses “pineapple” to describe the fruit in question
4. The probable origin of the word “banana”
5.The fact that “banana” and “ananas” sound similar is a pure coincidence.
Don’t even ask. I have no idea where or how this started.
